Religion Curriculum
At John Paul II, Catholic teachings, prayer, and faith in action are woven into every subject and activity. Our curriculum helps students understand God’s presence in their lives.  We follow the Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kansas curriculum.

Education in Virtue
Openlight Media's Education in Virtue program is used to provide a practical framework centered on a Virtue of the Week, utilizing common moral language, and integrating neurobiology with faith.  It bridges abstract theology and daily behavior through structured four-part units: Learn, Live, Witness, and Pray. Theology of the Body curriculum
The Theology of the Body (TOB) curriculum is integrated into Archdiocese of Kansas City, KS schools as a K-8 foundational moral framework using Ruah Woods Press materials, focusing on Christian anthropology, the dignity of the human person, that every child is created in the image and likeness of God, and relationships with God and others.  

Service
As a faith community, we emphasize values that inspire students to serve God by serving others. Our students are actively involved in community stewardship. Middle schoolers are encouraged to do service projects through JPII and outside of school.  Students have served at St. Mary's Food Kitchen, local food pantries, parish events like the Christmas Shoppe, pancake breakfasts, Knights of Columbus projects, and food drives, to name a few. Many students also serve weekend Masses at their parishes.

Sacraments
Sacramental preparation is a key part of education at John Paul II. School religion classes, combined with family involvement and participation at their parish, guide students as they prepare to receive the sacraments.

Faith Families
Students in grades K–8 join multi-age faith families throughout the year for lessons, service projects, and school events. Led by teachers and parents, these groups stay together each year, allowing students to build lasting relationships across the school community.
